‘Beauty and the Beast’ in Concert

Zooey Deschanel, Kelsey Grammer, and Taye Diggs will take up the singing voices during a live, orchestra-backed performance and screening of the animated classic Beauty and the Beast. The trio rounds out an ensemble cast that also includes Rebel Wilson, Jane Krakowski, and Anthony Evans.

Lebowski Fest

The dude will abide at this loyal homage to the cult Jeff Bridges stoner classic. The two-day festival is back, and “achievers” (fans of the film) show up in droves for a The Big Lebowski screening, bowling, trivia and costume contests, and, of course, White Russians. Grab your bowling shoes and viking helmets and celebrate the 20th anniversary of the movie. The Friday night film screening will feature music by the Kyle Gass Band (of Tenacious D fame), and expect actors from the film to make appearances throughout the weekend as well. In the past Bridges himself has even showed up and sang along to songs with fans. Far out!

Fiesta Hermosa

MAINopoly: A Taste of Main Street

Everybody likes a good theme party, and this Memorial Day Weekend, Main Street in Santa Monica is giving the people what they want. In an effort not only to entertain Westsiders but also to raise funds for Summer SOULstice and Heal the Bay, Main Street between Pier Avenue and Bay Street will transform into an interactive Monopoly board game, allotting attendees special “MAINopoly dollars,” to be exchanged for food tastings across the street’s finest establishments.

LA Taste of the Nation

Ensure that no kid goes hungry, whether in Los Angeles or across the nation, by joining the city’s finest chefs, mixologists, wineries and breweries on Sunday, June 3, 2018 for Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry, a remarkable afternoon of dining in support of No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America.

Guests will mix, mingle, and enjoy food and drink prepared by more than 60 top chefs and bartenders – an impressive list of talent curated by our co-chairs and volunteer committee. Guests will also enjoy live entertainment, an auction, chance drawing opportunities, and lawn games.

Eat|See|Hear – The Big Lebowski (20th Anniversary)

A summer-long celebration of movies, food, and music, Eat|See|Hear is LA’s original traveling outdoor movie series going to rotating venues around the city. Featuring a wide mix of outdoor movies, live music, and yummy food trucks, Eat|See|Hear won “Best Outdoor Movie Event” in Los Angeles Magazine’s Best of LA 2014. Plus dogs are welcome!

Jeff Bridges plays Jeff Lebowski who insists on being called “the Dude,” a laid-back, easygoing burnout who happens to have the same name as a millionaire whose wife owes a lot of dangerous people a whole bunch of money — resulting in the Dude having his rug soiled, sending him spiraling into the Los Angeles underworld.

Paddleboard Race + Ocean Festival

Tracing its roots back to the 1930’s Santa Monica Pier paddleboard races – some of the first in the world – this iconic event offers epic competition and family-friendly entertainment. Courses start and finish on the sand immediately south of the Pier and there are many ways to compete – Fun Paddle, Long Course, Elite Race, SUP / Paddleboard Knockout and ocean swimming events. On the Pier Deck and beach, participants and spectators will enjoy the Ocean Festival featuring live music, Polynesian dancing, food, drinks and a one-of-a-kind surf history museum.

57th International Surf Festival

The 2018 host city for the 56th International Surf Festival is the City of Redondo Beach. The event promotes the four South Bay beach cities, the world’s best lifeguard service, and physical fitness for thousands of participants. Participants range in age from 8 years old to the late 80’s. The three signature events for the festival are the Judge Taplin Lifeguard Medley Relay, the Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim, and the Charley Saikley 6-Man Volleyball Tournament. Other great events include a surfing contest, bodysurfing contest, beach run, paddleboard races, dory race, and youth events. The festival has hosted numerous international lifeguard teams including teams from Victoria, Australia.

Jazz on the Lawn

Fiesta La Ballona

Fiesta La Ballona, Culver City’s “Party In The Park” will be held August 24-26, 2018 at Veterans Park located at 4117 Overland Avenue. The popular Culver City event features carnival rides and games, live performances, over 100 booths spotlighting local organizations as well as featuring artisan wares and other vendors, a petting zoo and pony rides, a beer and wine garden, food trucks and a food court, and other special events.
